Goro takahashi was born in Jujo, Tokyo, in 1939 as the youngest of six brothers.
He was led to a life changing encounter as if by Fate when he was a junior high school student. He met an American soldier who stationed in Japan crafting objects using leather during his summer camp. He was fascinated by the art and during the stay at the camp he would visit the soldier everyday and befriending the American even though he didn’t speak a word of English and learnt leather craft techniques from him. The friendship continue till the soldier was relieved of his duties in Japan and went back to the states. The soldier handed Goro seven of his own tools. This triggered the birth of a great legendary leather and silver craftsman.
